After many years of study, travel, performing and teaching Jessica is thrilled to have settled in her hometown of Bundaberg, to be closer to family and begin her own studio, continuing to work as a singing teacher and vocal coach.
COACH:
Teaching for the past 8 years while continuing to study both here in Australia and in New York City; the highlight of Jessica’s teaching career to date is spending last 3 years as Head of Department in Voice and Musical Theatre and Principal Vocal Coach at Red Music Centre, Brisbane.
Jessica’s skill set as a teacher and coach became highly sort after and she most recently was approached to consult and design a song and dance program for a children’s daycare chain in Brisbane’s northern suburbs. On
the back of this program running successfully and independently, she designed and penned another syllabus, this time, a musical theatre program to be taught in the performing arts wing of another prominent Brisbane studio. Jessica continues to write various syllabuses and consults on numerous programs running throughout Brisbane and the Moreton Bay.
Beginning her tertiary studies at the Queensland conservatorium, majoring in classical voice, Jessica deferred her opportunities here in Queensland to complete her studies and to take up the opportunity and scholarship as a singer and dancer at the New York Film Academy graduating and continuing to live in NYC while working and performing in several productions. She started singing and performing at the age of 6 and throughout her youth, competed and placed in many local and state vocal competitions. As a recipient of the Dame Joan Sutherland Bursary and Semi-finalist in the Rob Guest Endowment, she understands the level of dedication required to hone the appropriate skills required of a performer and entertainer.
Jessica has strong foundations of over 12 years classical vocal training as a Soprano and and holds both Trinity College London Associate Performance Diploma in Musical Theatre and Trinity College London Licentiate in Teaching, as well as her Diploma in Musical Theatre from NYFA.
The cross over from classical to musical theatre to contemporary allows Jessica to teach a wide variety of styles and students will be given the opportunity to work towards exams, competitions, and achieving their own personal goals
As a vocalist; she believes in a strong focus on correct, stable and healthy technique for all singers and places an emphasis on assisting singers in developing a healthy and well placed high mix/belt.
As a performer; she places great value in developing the singers skills to experience performing as holistic act focusing on emotive perspective and a stylistic approach.
